December Walk - Deddington

Date: Saturday 19th December 2015
Meet: car park The Deddington Arms, Horse Fair, Deddington, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX15 0SH.  Tel: 01869 338364.
Time: 10.15am to start at 10.30am.
Length: about 6.5 miles, rolling countryside
Route: southerly loop to get to Clifton, then a loop northwards back to Deddington
Boots: advisable
Dogs: well behaved welcome, some fields where dogs must be on leads
Snack: water, and if you need it a snack
Lunch: at The Deddington Arms about 1.30pm

November Walk - Standford in the Vale

Date: 21st November 2015
Meet: car park of The Horse and Jockey, SN7 8NN
Time: 10.15am for 10.30am start
Length: 7 miles but flat
Route: towards Shellingford then on to Baulking back to Standford in the Vale
Boots: advisable
Dogs: well behaved welcome and on leads where there are farm animals
Snack: water, and if you need it, a snack
Lunch: about 1.45pm at The Horse and Jockey

Route: circular, gently undulating using field paths, quiet roads and woodland tracks

Meet: outside The George and Dragon pub Sutton Courtenay near Abingdon.
Time: 10.15 to start at 10.30am.
Length: about 7 miles on the flat
Route: from Sutton Courtenay into Abingdon old town return via The Thames Path
Boots: always advisable
Dogs: well behaved welcome on a lead if farm animals near
Lunch: about 1.30pm at The George and Dragon
Charity collection: for Adventure Plus which works with vulnerable young people and adults through outdoor adventures

Meet: Car Park of The Red Lion, Steeple Aston, OX25 4RY
Time: 10.15 for 10.30 start
Length: About 6 miles
Route: S. towards Rousham House, join the River Cherwell at Heyford Warf, N. passed Allen's Lock back to Steeple Aston.
Boots: Very advisable as ground rough and possibly muddy
Dogs: Well behaved welcome
Lunch: At The Red Lion about 1.15pm
Charity Collection: Adventure Plus, which works with young people, including the most vulnerable in our society, through outdoor adventures.

April Walk - Eastleach Turville

Date: Saturday 25th April 2015
Meet: Victoria Inn, Eastleach Turville, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 3NQ
Time: 10.15am for 10.30am
Length: about 7 miles
Route: north entering the river valley before reaching Akeman Street, then south keeping close to the the river on the other side, round Eastleach Martin to Fyfield then north back along the river to Eastleach Turville
Boots: always advisable
Dogs: well behaved welcome but the route goes through Hatherop Estate land and there are notices requesting that dogs are kept on leads even if there are no animals in the field
Lunch:  Victoria Inn, Eastleach Turville about 1.30/40pm

Meet: car park of Carriers Arms, Hill Road, Watlington OX49 5AD
Other parking: public car park down the road
Time: 10.00 am for 10.15 start
Length: about 7½ miles
Route: low sections of The Ridgeway and Swan’s Path, so not too exposed, Britwell Salome back to The Ridgeway before returning to Watlington
Boots: essential - large puddles and very muddy in places
Dogs: well behaved welcome
Snack: water and, if you need it a snack
Lunch: about 1.30pm at The Carriers Arms - order before we set off
